technology? blog 2

It's interesting to me to think about the past. I wonder if people were all stoked about the wheel being invented. However, today, i feel like people tend to take technology for granted.

Maybe its because they dont understand it, maybe they dont want to, i really dont know.

But i think about life just like 4-5 years ago and color cell phones were new and it was amazing. Now you look poor if you dont have a camera phone with music on it.

What is technology going to do to people in the long run? Will it make us stronger, or destroy us?

There are so many positive aspects to technology, but most of them are in regards to communication in some way or another. So here's my thought, is technology really helping us? Are people just getting more distant, making relationships on inadequate pretenses.

Is it too much to wonder if technology has something to do with the divorce rate increasing? Everyone has gotten in a "text fight" with someone because they misunderstand what the person is saying. It may seem small, but things like that pile up and seem and feel real.

What would our lives be like if we didnt have phones or internet for a week? How would the relationships we do have change?

Just thinking about how technology is blurring our perception of reality, and its a really sensitive situation, but i dont think people take it seriously at all.

........

10 years ago, no one took global warming seriously.

well to relate this to class, how will this effect the education system? Technology DOES give us a unified view of information. But i think you learn more in a classroom than you ever will online. There are things technology cant teach us, like how to interact with people. So what would english be like without technology? Perhaps our grammar would be better. Maybe it would alter our way of expressing ourselves. Who knows.

  1. I wonder these same things regularly. It is a bit of a slap in the face if you really think about it.
